# Twitter Spaces Hosting

## Purpose
Run a polished X Space from planning through the afterparty. Covers topic selection, scheduling, roles (host, co-hosts, speakers), live moderation, recording, and cutting the best moments into shareable clips.

## Workflow

### 1. Pick the topic and format
- Choose one outcome the Space delivers ("How we cut churn 40% in 90 days"), not a vague chat theme. Outcome-driven titles pull better attendance.
- Add up to 3 topic tags at creation so listeners can find the room.
- Pick a format that fits the goal: interview (host + 1 guest speaker), panel (host + co-host + 2 to 5 speakers), or AMA (open speaker requests).
- Write 3 to 5 talking-point anchors. Bullets, not a script; a read script sounds dead on live audio.

### 2. Schedule and promote
- Create the Space in the X mobile app: long-press the post composer, tap the Spaces icon, name it, add tags, then choose Start now or Schedule for later. (Hosting is mobile-only; the web client is listen-only.)
- For recurring or high-value rooms, schedule 48 to 72 hours ahead so followers get notified and you have time to promote.
- Post an announcement with date, time, timezone, guest names, and one line on what listeners walk away with. DM key guests personally and repost reminders the day of.

### 3. Assign roles
- Recruit 1 to 2 co-hosts from complementary audiences. They cross-pollinate listeners and share moderation, which takes the pressure off the host.
- Invite speakers before going live when you can, and brief them on the topics in advance. A short rundown makes the discussion smoother.
- Capacity is fixed: 1 host, up to 2 co-hosts, up to 10 speakers, for 13 speaking slots total.

### 4. Run the room
- Open with the hook in the first 60 seconds: what this room is about and why it matters.
- Manage from the people icon: invite listeners as speakers or co-hosts, approve mic requests, mute noisy lines, remove disruptors. Co-hosts can do all of this except inviting other co-hosts and ending the room.
- Keep captions on. X generates live captions for the host automatically, which keeps the room accessible.
- Pin a post with the topic or key links so late joiners catch up fast.

### 5. Close and follow up
- End with a clear CTA: newsletter, DM invite, or the date of the next Space.
- The replay stays available for up to 30 days, but only if you toggled Record when creating the room. Recording cannot be turned on after the fact.
- Thank guests publicly and quote the strongest moments as posts while the room is fresh.

### 6. Clip the best moments
- During the room, log timestamps of quotable moments. A co-host or mod can keep this list while you focus on hosting.
- After the Space, download the replay and cut clips with the helper below. Replays expire, so the download is the archive.
- Post clips as standalone posts: one hook line, the clip, and a link back to the full replay. Cut 30 to 90 second moments; longer clips lose the feed.

## Output Contract
- A named, scheduled (or live) Space with topic tags, roles assigned, and a promo plan.
- A moments log with timestamps from the live room.
- Shareable MP3 clips of the best moments plus a recap post pointing to the replay.

## Operating Rules
1. One topic per Space. If two topics compete, run two rooms.
2. Big rooms need a co-host or mod lined up before you go live. Moderation is not an afterthought.
3. Verify guest speakers before inviting them on stage. An open mic on a large room goes off the rails fast.
4. Recording must be toggled on at creation if you want a replay or clips. There is no retroactive record.
5. Clip only what was public. A recorded Space's replay is public by design, but cut any guest who asks to be removed.
6. Platform mechanics change. See `references/hosting_reference.md` for the details and re-check X's help center before high-stakes rooms.
