Turn comment sections into a customer pipeline: qualify high-intent commenters, reply helpfully in public, funnel with pinned comments, and hand off to DM with low-pressure scripts. Triggers on 'convert commenters', 'comment to DM', 'pinned comment funnel', social selling from posts/reels.

Comment sections are warm buying intent sitting in plain sight. This skill gives an agent a repeatable pipeline: spot the commenters worth talking to, reply in public so the answer sells to everyone reading, pin the comments that do selling work for you, and move real prospects into DMs with scripts that read as service, not spam. Covers Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook; manual and ManyChat-automated routes.
Not every comment deserves a follow-up. Reply in public to everything worth answering, but only move a commenter toward DM when the thread shows intent. Green flags: they describe a problem, mention budget or shopping, ask a buying question ("price?", "does it work for X?", "do you ship to…"), or compare alternatives. Skip threads with no problem, no budget, no deadline, and no comparison: that is engagement bait, not a prospect.
Every public reply follows the same shape: direct answer first, a sliver of proof, then a question that pulls them into a thread. The comment must be useful even if the person never buys; that is what keeps it from reading as spam and what convinces the dozens of lurkers reading along.

(Comments cannot carry clickable links on Instagram; say "link in bio" or "comment LINK and I'll DM it.")100%. One nuance: most of that time is usually in the handoff, not the task itself. We cut ours with a one-page checklist. What's the part that eats most of your time?Three variants per reply type live in references/reply-templates.md. Rotate them; identical replies across posts get flagged.
Instagram lets you pin up to 3 comments per post or Reel, including your own: iOS swipe left → pin icon, Android long-press → Pin Comment. The commenter gets notified. Pin a three-comment ladder on every selling post, in this order:
On TikTok, use video replies to comments on high-intent threads; the format gets strong reach and answers the question for everyone. On a sale or launch post, pin the offer terms (discount code, deadline) and screenshot positive comments into Stories as free social proof.
Never DM first unless they asked or replied with clear interest. When they do: post one more public reply (so lurkers see the value), then take it private. Two messages, no pitch deck.
Hey [name], saw your comment about [their pain]. Quick one: are you trying to [goal A] or [goal B]? What are you using today?Got it. Fastest fix: [one actionable step]. I can send over [resource/link] if it's useful. Want it?If they asked publicly for a link, send it immediately; that is a permission-granted send.
For accounts with steady comment volume, automate the keyword flow with ManyChat (official Meta Business Partner). Requirements: Instagram Professional account (Creator or Business) linked to a Facebook Page, and Connected Tools message access enabled (Settings → Messages and story replies → Connected tools → Allow access to messages). Setup: Automations → New Automation → Post comments trigger → pick the post(s) → all comments or keyword-only → write the DM → mark the first message as a Comment Reply (Meta 24-hour messaging compliance) → activate. Keyword CTAs work like: "Comment GUIDE and I'll send you the free guide." The keyword comment triggers both a public auto-reply under their comment and a private DM. Details and edge cases in references/manychat-setup.md.
Track per post: reply-to-DM handoffs, DM-to-sale closes, and which pinned comment gets the most saves/shares. Double down on the reply templates and pin ladders that move people off the post.
When asked to run this pipeline on a specific post or thread, return: (1) the qualified commenters with the exact reply text for each, (2) the three pinned comments drafted for the post, (3) DM scripts customized to each qualified commenter, (4) a yes/no recommendation on automating via ManyChat with the keyword CTA drafted. Plain text, no jargon, ready to paste.
