Founder-Led Content

Purpose

The operating system for founders who are the face of the company online. It covers three things most founder-content advice mashes together but shouldn't: a personal-account strategy that is distinct from the company account, rules for building in public without oversharing, and an ethics framework for ghostwritten or AI-assisted content. Built so an agent can set up and run the founder's content presence week to week.

Concept (the whole thing in one paragraph)

Founder-led content works because people trust people, not logos. Practitioner consensus puts personal-profile reach at roughly five to eight times what a company page gets for the same follower count, but that reach is borrowed credibility, not a permanent asset. The job is to spend it well: the personal account answers "why should people trust us," the company account answers "what do we do," and never are they just cross-posts of each other. Transparency is a dial, not a switch: share the struggle, keep the salary. And when someone else holds the pen, the founder's voice, sign-off, and honesty about the help are what keep the channel from rotting.

Workflow

1. Split the accounts on purpose

Decide what each account is for before writing a word.

2. Lock the three pillars

Three pillars, tied to what the audience needs, not to the founder's ego.

3. Run the weekly cadence
4. Build in public with guardrails

Transparency earns trust; oversharing burns it. Before publishing anything personal, run the three-gate check (full version in references/oversharing-guardrails.md):

5. Decide the authorship model honestly

Every founder account sits somewhere on a spectrum, and the only wrong move is lying about where you are. See references/ghostwriting-ethics.md for the full framework.

6. Set up the transition early

Founder content is a launch asset, not a forever crutch. If the founder is the only source of trust, the company cannot be sold, cannot survive the founder stepping back, and cannot hire senior people without suspicion. From day one:

7. Measure what matters

Do not optimize for likes. Track per month:

Output Contract

When asked to set up or run a founder's content presence, deliver:

  1. Account split brief: one page defining what lives on the personal account vs the company account, with the cross-posting rule stated.
  2. Three pillars: each with a one-line audience promise and two example post ideas.
  3. Weekly cadence: posting days, comment routine, reply SLA.
  4. Oversharing checklist: the three-gate check applied to the founder's first five planned posts.
  5. Authorship model: which model is in use, who reviews what, where the voice guide lives, and the disclosure stance.
  6. Measurement plan: the trust, business, and health signals to track, and the quarterly review date.
